Born in Genoa (Italy), Domenico made his first steps in music world with the piano and the violin and approaches the cello at the age of eight. The passion for art and music is shared within the family and the love for the cello is certainly inspired by the deep sounds and its "human" shape.

Thus he began studying with the cellist Nevio Zanardi who accompanied him until his diploma, brilliantly obtained in 2008 at the Conservatorio "N. Paganini" of Genoa. The interest in the lesser-known repertoire is a constant element during his training and pursued in his musical projects. Together with Finnish pianist Folke Gräsbeck he performed in Italy, Finland and France the complete cello and piano production of Jean Sibelius and Ferruccio Busoni. His latest project "Alma Latina", developed together with Brazilian pianist Luís Rabello, highlights the unpublished work of Radamés Gnattali. While remaining open to all types of repertoire (classical and otherwise), he favors the authors of the 20th and 21st centuries, with a special attention to contemporary music and its infinite expressive possibilities.

His activity as a musician is inseparably linked to chamber and ensemble music, probably the most sublime realization of musical art, created by different instruments and personalities, each indispensable. Thus he has the opportunity to perform in numerous groups, from duo to quintet, from contemporary ensemble to cello orchestra, in Italy, France, Switzerland, Finland, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands.

His career as an orchestra professor took him to Belgium where he currently lives and works as violoncelle soliste of  "Opéra Royal de Wallonie" in Liège. Formerly co-principal of the Mitteldeustche Kammerphilharmonie in Schönebeck (Germany), he has collaborated with some Italian orchestras including the "Giuseppe Verdi" in Milan and the "Orchestra del Teatro Olimpico" in Vicenza.

After graduating with N. Zanardi in 2008, he developed his skills in Turin with Dario Destefano and in 2016 obtained a Master's degree at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana with Johannes Goritzki.
