ALMA LATINA
20th century latin american music

Created together with Brazilian pianist Luís Rabello, the project "Alma Latina" shines a spotlight on a passionate, fresh and energetic repertoire. The "serious" Latin American music of the 20th century is a world of different styles, forms and languages that reflect the multiculturalism of countries such as Brazil and Argentina.
Between popular inspiration (dances, folklore, melodies, harmonies and rhythms...), European tradition and the inevitable contact with the United States, composers such as Heitor Villa-Lobos, Alberto Ginastera or Astor Piazzolla, manage to create their own defined and unmistakable style.

And the aim is to homage, together with the big names, the music of composers less known to the general audience such as José Bragato, Cláudio Santoro, Camargo Guarnieri and above all Radamés Gnattali, who in addition to being a famous jazz musician and arranger has left behind a huge production, often unpublished, where the border between classical and popular music is almost imperceptible.
